Fish Dum Biriyani
Bengali people love fish. We bongs like fish in any way, such as, in curry, stew, mustard gravy, or in biriyani. So here i'm sharing this recipe, and this is my version of fish biriyani. this is basically fice basec rice variety with lots of spices. It is easy to cook and yet very much tasty.
Cooking time: 1hrs 30 mins.
Ingredients( for rice)
- Soaked basmati rice1 1/2 cup
- Cinnamon stick 1
- Cloves 4 to 5
- Green cardamom 4 to 5
- Bay leaves 2
- Fish 7 to 8 pieces
- Whipped curd 1 cup
- Biriyani masala
- Lemon juice 2 to 3 tbsp
- Turmeric 1 tsp
- Red chilli powder 1 tbsp
- cumin powder 1tbsp
- Green chilli slited 2 to 3
- Fried onion 1/2 cup
- Coriander powder 1 tbsp
- Onion chopped
- Ginger-garlic paste 1 tbsp
- Cumin seeds1 tsp
- coriander leaves 2 tbsp(chopped)
- Mint leaves 1 tbsp(chopped)
- Salt to taste
- Rose water as req.
- Cooking oil as req.
- marinate the fish with lemon juice, whipped curd, red chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder, ginger garlic paste, salt 2 mint leaves, fried onion, biriyani masala powder and keep a side for 30 mins.
- now boil 4 cups of water along with bay leaves,green cardamom, cinnamon, cloves in a large pan. when the water starts boiling add the soaked rice and cook until the rice 90 % cook. Afterthat, drain water and allow the rice to cool.
- now heat the oil in another pan and add cumin seeds and chopped onion stir it for 7 to 8 mins, then add the marinated fish and mix well.
- cover the fish with a lid and cook for 25 mins.
- Afterthat sprinkle slited green chilli, rose water coriander leaves, mint leaves, fried onion, ghee then add the boil rice .
- Again sprikle ghee, rose water, coriander leaves, mint leaves fried oinon and cover with a lid and cook for 8 to 10 mins.
- now serve your biriyani with raita.
